About Me

Who Am I?

Hi, I’m Manish. I was born in Nepal and grew up in London. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London and currently work in the tech industry.

Photography began as a passion and gradually became something more serious. As a freelance photographer based in London, I take on a wide range of shoots including portraits, weddings, events, and product work.

My Tools

I primarily shoot with Fujifilm’s medium format system. It offers a level of depth, colour, and mood that I haven't found in anything else. It slows me down in the best way and helps me focus on what matters.

For faster paced situations, I also use a full-frame 42mp Sony camera, especially when speed and autofocus are essential.

Experience

I’ve been photographing for over a decade, mainly with full-frame gear. Over the past year, I shifted to medium format as explained in the page Why Medium Format?

Medium format is often seen as out of reach, but I believe we're entering a time where it's becoming more accessible. With the right approach and experience, it's possible to bring that quality to more people, not just to high-end studios.

Beyond the Camera

Outside of photography, I enjoy building PCs, collecting vinyl, running, playing badminton, and travelling. I’m always on the lookout for good light, good music, and interesting stories.
